Following the announcement of the Stryker hip settlement, federal judge U.S. District Court Justice Donovan Frank ordered the registration of all potential claims from patients who received defective Stryker Rejuvenate or Stryker ABG II hip implants. Under this settlement, thousands of Stryker hip implant patients will receive $300,000 each, or more, after having received defective hip devices.
Funding will likely to be disbursed late summer or early fall 2015 with advanced payment disbursements anticipated for late 2015 and into early 2016. In addition, individuals who suffered catastrophic injuries will be able to pursue additional compensation under the settlement if they meet several eligibility requirements for enhancements.
Early estimates state that the first payments from the settlement will issue sometime during the late summer or early fall of 2015, with those that qualify for enhanced payments under the settlement agreement receiving payment at the end of 2015 or early in 2016.
